Mathou
I'm Mathilde, but everyone calls me Mathou. I was born in the 80s in Angers and, a little by chance - but with great joy - I became an author and illustrator, a path I've been on for over 10 years now!
I opened a comic blog in 2007 and since then, I regularly publish drawings on the internet whose subjects can probably be summed up in a single sentence:
in life, we do what we can, and that's not so bad! -
20+ books
I published my very first comic book in 2016, "Wonderwomen Wear Spanx Too", which allowed me to enter the complex but exciting world of book authors.
Since then, I've published comic books with Delcourt and First on themes as diverse as everyday mishaps, fears and anxieties, doubts, injunctions, body image, fatphobia, and postpartum.
I've also published children's books with Robert Laffont, as well as my first novel in 2025: Things We Say. -
An e-shop since 2021
I illustrate and design all the products you'll find in this shop, accompanied by:
- Yohann, who handles the e-shop with me, supplier relations, packaging, and a lot of my mental health :)
